Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) – Voice of Democracy - 2026-2027 Voice of Democracy - VFW Dept of Illinois
This scholarship opportunity is an essay contest. Local winners are given a $1,000 dollars towards college. The essay prompt is “What A Veteran Taught Me About America.” When you go to the above website you will need to click on “2026-2027 Voice Democracy Eligibility, Rules and Entry Form.” Ensure you read through the rules and fill out the entry form before beginning this scholarship. This scholarship is open to high school seniors who plan on majoring in Agriculture, Agronomy, Precision Ag, Automotive, Diesel Technician, Ag Technology, Welding, Accounting, Marketing, Business, or a related degree. Applications should also include a letter of recommendation and most recent transcripts. If chosen, you could earn up to $2,500 per semester during the first two scholarship years (4 semesters), with an option to earn $1,000 per semester while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree (up to 4 semesters). **If you accept this scholarship you are agreeing to work full-time at The Equity for a minimum of two years after completing your degree. **
