IAR Testing
Students in Grades 3-8 will all be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR)Test. The students testing window ranges from March 1 – April 29. I have a webinar soon to find out more details of the changes that have been made from previous years. I hope to have more information and a schedule created shortly and posted to the social media pages soon.
College Visits
As a junior and senior, you are entitled to two college visits that do not affect your attendance. Use this day to visit a potential school to see if it is a good fit or to take a placement test. See Ms Meng for further details and to obtain a form to be signed by a college official.
Scholarships
Now that you have completed the deadlines for college admittance, start working on outside scholarships. Parents, check with your place of employment or places you do business. So many scholarships go unawarded because no one applies for them. STUDENTS, be proactive and earn free money! Check out these websites for additional scholarships.

SAT and PSAT Testing
The SAT(juniors), PSAT 10 (sophomores), and PSAT 8/9 (freshmen) will be given on Wednesday, April 12th. It is NEVER too early to start studying. I would encourage every student to create an account with Khan Academy where they can take 8 full-length, real practice tests, watch videos and lessons, and be given a tailored study plan. There are also study and test taking tips available. Studies have shown that with 20 hours of Khan Academy practice is associated with 115-point average score increase. Khan Academy also has an app that can be downloaded to any device.
